Richard Gabriel, PhD is Head of Laboratory and Project Management at Genewerk. He has a fifteen-year track record in cell and gene therapy.

More about Dr. Richard Gabriel

Before joining Genewerk, Richard was at the forefront for improving vector integration site analysis methods and developing assays for on and off-target determination in gene editing.

Richard was awarded a doctoral degree with summa cum laude from University of Heidelberg, Germany in 2011. He received “Young Investigator Award” from European Society for Gene and Cell Therapy and “Excellence in Research Award” from American Society of Gene and Cell Therapy to honor his contributions in the field of Gene and Cell Therapy.

Richard is authoring more than 20 peer-reviewed publications in high-impact journals. Previous to his current position, Richard was head of ImmunOmics platform at the National Center for Tumor Diseases Heidelberg, Germany and Project Leader Targeted Genomics at German Cancer Research Center Heidelberg.

Richard graduated with a diploma in Biology from the University of Würzburg; Germany.
